Arcada Offers Open Studies Courses for Free to the Unemployed and Temporarily Laid-off

Published: 17.04.2020 / Education

To alleviate the societal effects of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic Arcada will, as of 17 April, offer Open Studies courses for free to the unemployed and temporarily laid-off. All courses will be free of charge until the end of 2020.

– In these exceptional times, everyone needs to contribute to mitigate the societal effects of the crisis! At Arcada we want to offer the unemployed and temporarily laid off an opportunity to update and expand their knowledge and skills, and thus help them enhance their position on the labour market. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for them to get a glimpse of a new field. Through Open Path Studies, those who are interested in completing a full degree at Arcada can start their studies as soon as possible, Rector Mona Forsskåhl says.

The current situation may bring about a lot of uncertainty and deciding which courses to take can be challenging. Therefore, Arcada also offers free guidance in order to help people map out their situation and find new ways forward. The counsellors are experts who offer support to reach one's own goals. Do not hesitate to get in touch on Whatsapp (+358405934385) or via email E-mail: vagledning@arcada.fi to book a meeting.

There is no age limit for saving lives

Being able to recognise an emergency, call for help and start resuscitation can be the difference between life and death in a sudden cardiac arrest. Arcada University of Applied Sciences participates in the Kids Save Lives project that teaches children how to act in emergency situations.
