Henrika Franck, Arcada's Vice Rector in charge of research, development and innovation activities, has been appointed Vice Chairman of the national Forum for International Affairs in Higher Education and Research. The forum has been established by the Ministry of Education and Culture for the period 2020-2023.

The forum will monitor and develop the implementation of internationalisation and development in higher education and research. This includes ensuring high-quality international research and access to labor in the future.

According to Franck it is important, among other things, to create opportunities for international students to stay in Finland after graduation.

- We at Arcada are educating and researching for an international and equal future, and it is of the utmost importance that we today lay the foundations for a sustainable and rewarding working life in the future, says Franck.

The forum, which is chaired by the University of Turku's Rector Jukka Kola, is tasked with developing Finland into a global leader in education and research through 2025.

There is no age limit for saving lives

Being able to recognise an emergency, call for help and start resuscitation can be the difference between life and death in a sudden cardiac arrest. Arcada University of Applied Sciences participates in the Kids Save Lives project that teaches children how to act in emergency situations.
