At our international campus in Helsinki, our 2,700 students and 170 employees work at the forefront of change and development. We conduct research relevant to society and provide lifelong learning in business and IT, energy and materials technology, health and welfare, culture and media, and healthcare. Coastal reed harvesting and the utilisation of reed accelerate the blue economy – the first Reed Fair in Helsinki

Reed is a versatile and renewable raw material. Utilising it can help reduce nutrient loading in the Baltic Sea and replace fossil-based raw materials. The Reed to Revenue - BalticReed Fair will be held at Arcada University of Applied Sciences on 29 January, gathering professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs and decision-makers to explore the sustainable utilisation of reed materials and their business potential. The public and media are invited to participate.

Arcada's sustainability work highlighted in national collection of articles

A new collection of articles on sustainable development highlights how Finnish universities of applied sciences are working to promote a more sustainable society. The collection, published as part of Arene's sustainability and responsibility programme, contains a total of 29 articles from 20 universities of applied sciences, including Arcada.

Reed to revenue – a reed fair organised by BalticReed

Welcome to the Reed to revenue event 29.1.2026 12:00-17:00 at Arcada. BalticReed project organises, as the final project event, a reed fair where you will meet entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, researchers and designers from the Baltic Sea area as they present their work with reed. The event has both a seminar programme and a fair.
