Real Estate Energy

The programme is aimed at professionals in the field of energy, construction or HVAC engineering looking to gain competence and knowledge to tackle these new challenges. The foundation of the degree programme is sustainable refurbishment, both in terms of financial and environmental issues. The comprehensive curriculum covers topics such as:

The future directions of energy and climate, with focus on energy resources, energy politics on a global level, climate change, renewable energy technologies and electric grid issues
Energy diagnosis of real estate and renovations, with focus on both energy efficiency and comfort
Sustainable development of real estate to meet the energy and climate target of 2050
And financial, project and change management of real estate renovations.

Arcada launches physiotherapy clinic

A sense of anticipation and excitement filled the air on 24 September as Arcada launched its new physiotherapy clinic within its Arcada Health Tech Hub (AHTH). In front of more than 100 invited guests, students showcased the clinic's operations and demonstrated the services that will soon be available to partners and the general public.

Partially work-capable healthcare professionals support older adults in everyday life: Arcada behind award-winning innovation

The project Functional ability for older adults – Work ability for staff (TOTY) has been selected as one of the winners of the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health's national innovation competition, The Future of Care Work. The innovation is an operating model based on reablement, offering dual benefits: older adults receive support to live more independently at home, while social and healthcare professionals with partial work ability are given the opportunity to continue working within the sector.

Impact-oriented management steering universities of applied sciences in a new direction

The 4Q project explores how higher education institutions can better measure and strengthen their societal impact. The initiative is carried out by Arcada University of Applied Sciences, Diaconia University of Applied Sciences (Diak), Humak University of Applied Sciences (Humak) and Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (KAMK).
