Arcada Launches Physiotherapy Clinic

Published : 24.09.2026 / Press release

A sense of anticipation and excitement filled the air on 24 September as Arcada launched its new physiotherapy clinic within its Arcada Health Tech Hub (AHTH). In front of more than 100 invited guests, students showcased the clinic's operations and demonstrated the services that will soon be available to partners and the general public.

The launch follows the granting of a new licence by the Finnish Supervisory Agency, enabling Arcada to provide physiotherapy services through its own clinic. The services will be delivered by students under the supervision of teaching staff, and the first clients will be welcomed as early as week 40.

During the launch event, students spoke enthusiastically about how the clinic will be integrated into their studies, giving them the opportunity to work with real client cases already during their studies.

“This is an important step for the programme. Students will have the opportunity to develop their professional competence in an authentic environment and prepare for working life while receiving support from our lecturers,” says Annikki Arola, one of the driving forces behind obtaining the clinic licence.

The students' enthusiasm was evident and has also spread to the teaching staff.

“It is inspiring to see the students’ commitment. Interest in the clinic is high, and within just a few weeks we will be welcoming our first clients,” Arola continues.

The new clinic will also strengthen access to Swedish-language physiotherapy services.

“We are delighted to open the clinic to the public. It is a natural extension of the health-promoting work we already carry out together with our partners and enables us to offer a broader range of physiotherapy services in Swedish,” says Carina Kiukas, Dean.

The clinic is part of the activities in Arcada Health Tech Hub and brings together education and societal impact. For students, it provides valuable practical experience, while clients gain access to physiotherapy services in a modern environment.

Do you need support to improve your mobility, reduce pain, or exercise safely and confidently? Take advantage of the opportunity. There are still appointments available during the opening week. Find out more and book you time on the clinic's pages!
