Solar panels will produce one tenth of the electricity used at Arcada

In May, 476 solar panels will be installed on Arcada’s roof. The investment in sustainable energy is important from an environmental point of view, and the solar energy system will also be used in teaching, research and development work at the university of applied sciences.

According to preliminary stats Arcada’s bachelor’s degree programmes in English attracted 605 first-hand applicants in total this year, compared to 583 last year. The total amount of applicants to Arcada was 1,818.

Finnish University, Arcada and the University of Salford, from the UK, have created the winning concept in a BRE competition to find a tool for rapid and accurate measurement of the thermal performance of solid walls in homes.
