Arcada launches Job Portal – A new online career service with many opportunities

Published: 20.05.2021 / News

Arcada Job Portal is a new online career service for students. The platform gives employers broader opportunities to make their company visible through their own profile. It also serves as a gathering place for career-related material.

On the new Arcada Job Portal, companies can register employer profiles and publish ads for jobs, practical training or thesis projects, as well as create and market career-related events for Arcada's students.

As part of Arcada's actions within the national Talent Boost programme, the new portal was already launched in English last autumn to support Arcada’s international students and companies interested in recruiting international students. Now Arcada is launching the portal in Swedish too, and thus offers the service to all its students.

– International students still find it difficult to find internships and jobs in Finland, despite the fact that it is in the interests of both Finland, the companies and the higher education institutions to retain the diversity and knowledge the international students bring. The Talent Boost action programme seeks to remedy this and the new Arcada Job Portal is a step in the right direction by creating a valuable interface between students and employers, says Sandra Slotte, responsible for sustainable career support at Arcada.

The interest in the service has already been great among the companies. In the long term, Arcada plans to launch the platform also for alumni.

– We are glad that many companies have already created employer profiles and published ads. It is valuable for our students to now have an easily accessible platform where they find a lot of career-related content gathered in one place, says Slotte.
