Arcada Sharpens its International Profile with New Director of Academic Partnerships

D.H.Sc. Camilla Wikström-Grotell takes on the new role as Director of academic partnerships at Arcada from 1 January 2019. Through the position, Arcada is putting new focus on developing academic networks internationally. The vision is long-term partnerships to ensure high quality also in the future.
Today, Arcada is an international university of applied sciences that works globally with different higher education institutions (HEI). The new position will further strengthen Arcada's international profile by developing selected academic partnerships. Specifically, this involves cooperation both within teaching and research with key institutions in the Nordic and Baltic countries.
Camilla Wikström-Grotell, who previously has held positions both as Head of department and Vice-rector at Arcada, is excited about her new role.
- Strategic internationalisation and partnerships with selected HEIs in the Nordic and Baltic countries will further improve Arcada’s growth prospects both within degree education and within research. Closer collaboration with key HEI’s provides both breadth and depth in knowledge and competence and thus quality, explains Wikström-Grotell.
- We have an extensive international network and several partners in the Nordic region. With Camilla in charge of academic partnerships, we will give these partnerships that extra nudge to take them to the next level and to sharpen our Nordic profile, comments Rector Mona Forsskåhl.
Camilla Wikström-Grotell graduated as physiotherapist in 1981, licentiate in health sciences in 2003 and doctor of health sciences in 2016. Since 2006, she has served as Head of department for the Department of Health and Welfare at Arcada and also as Vice-rector 2012-18. Wikström-Grotell has extensive experience of Nordic cooperation. She has e.g. participated as an international quality evaluator of education in the Nordic countries and participated in several international research projects in the Nordic and Baltic countries.
