Arcada's course offerings on Opin.fi – contributes to lifelong learning

On 3 November, parts of Arcada's open course offering were published on Opin.fi – the national service that brings together open higher education studies from all over Finland. The pilot offering includes non-stop online courses in continuous learning and other forms of learning, such as Arcada's research blog and the Healthcare Horizons podcast.

‘By participating in Opin.fi, we are increasing our visibility nationally and contributing to the common goal of continuous learning here at Arcada: to promote lifelong learning and accessible education,’ says Raisamiina Hagström, Lead Service Developer at Arcada.

A national platform for open higher education studies

Opin.fi was launched in spring 2025 and brings together open higher education studies from all over Finland. As of November, over 30 Finnish higher education institutions offer courses through the service.

The platform is aimed at anyone who wants to develop their skills, regardless of their background or previous studies, and makes it easier to find and compare courses based on theme, study format, schedule or language.

By logging in to the service, users can also review their previous higher education studies and save interesting courses for the future.

On Opin.fi, Arcada offers studies in Swedish, English and Finnish within business, engineering, healthcare, film and media. Although the main target group for Opin.fi is not degree students, Arcada’s students can find courses that can be taken as development or optional studies.

The courses and modules offered give you the best possible tools for growth and development – regardless of whether you are just taking your first steps in your studies or are already well immersed in working life.
