5. Purposes of processing personal data
As part of their studies, students in the film and media degree program create student productions. All student productions are stored in Arcada's internal film archive.
6. Legal basis for processing personal data
The processing of personal data is based, depending on the category of data subjects, on contract or public interest.
7. Categories of personal data and the duration of storage
The stored films and their metadata, as well as contracts with participants and collaborators, may contain the following categories of personal data:
- Production team members: Name and role in the production
- Participants: Name, date of birth, organization, contact details, role in the production, and image and sound recordings
- Collaborators: Name, contact details, organization details

9. Data sources
The data is obtained in connection with the creation of student productions, for collaborators and partners, some of the data is obtained in connection with the conclusion of contracts.
10. Recipients of the personal data
Arcada can offer the student productions and in this way make them available to Public Broadcasting (YLE), national and international film festivals and Arcada's student film platform.
11. Transfer of personal data outside the EU and the EEA and the basis for the transfer
Student productions offered and made available in this way to broadcasters, national and international film festivals and Arcada's student film platform can be shown globally. Other data, which is not necessary for this purpose, is not transferred outside the EU and EEA.
12. Principles for the protection of personal data
Material in electronic format is stored in IT systems and on computers protected from unauthorized use with security measures including firewalls and passwords. The systems have different user levels, and users are granted access to the data only to the extent the user’s work tasks require.
Material in paper format is stored in locked rooms with limited access and access control.
13. Automated decision-making
Automated decisions and profiling are not made based on personal data within the register.
