Arcada Award
The Arcada Award of €1,500 is based on non-academic activities and awarded to a few students per academic year.
The sum of €1,500 is deducted from the tuition fee for the next academic year when the student is registered as present. The Arcada Award is only available to bachelor-level students starting from their second year. Nursing TopUp students are not eligible to receive the Arcada Award.
Eligibility
To be eligible for an Arcada Award the student must
- be liable for tuition fees in Information Technology, International Business, or Mechanical and Sustainable Engineering
- have completed 55 credits per year
- have been nominated for the award.
All the above-mentioned criteria must be met.
Three categories
The Arcada Award is given in three different categories:
Community builder and inclusion
Awarded to a student who has shown extra engagement to support the spirit within Arcada, or who has mediated between different groups of students, or who has supported networking outside of studies.
Innovation, creativity and sustainability
Awarded to a student who has promoted new smart solutions or initiated innovative solutions, through development projects, entrepreneurship or involvement in Arcada’s R&D activities.
Global ambassador
Awarded to a student who has actively supported in putting Arcada on the map, strengthened Arcada’s brand or promoted the impact of Arcada on various levels.
An Arcada Award will be given in all three categories for each degree programme, provided that there are nominated and eligible candidates.
The number of awards can be the equivalent of a max of 10% of a class.
Who can nominate and who can win?
All students who are enrolled as present can nominate fellow students, but a student cannot nominate themselves. A student can be nominated for and awarded the Arcada Award several times.
A jury consisting of different members of the staff will select the awardees. First nominations for the Arcada Awards will be open in 2027, for students who started their studies in 2026. More information on the application process will be available to those it will concern.
