Course overview
Gain the skills to promote occupational justice in Nordic societies. Explore how work, well-being, and inclusion intersect, and understand challenges faced by marginalized groups. Learn to navigate policies, design inclusive strategies, and apply the Participatory Occupational Justice Framework to create meaningful change. This course equips you to drive social innovation, foster equity in workplaces and communities, and make a lasting impact in Nordic welfare contexts.
The course is arranged in cooperation with the OSNordic Knowledge Hub. You will work in mixed group with students from different univerities in Nordic countries.
Who is this programme for
This course is designed for attendants with a Bachelor’s-level education (minimum 180 ECTS at EQF level 6) who want to further develop their skills.
What you will learn
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Compare challenges in health and well-being for at-risk groups across Nordic countries.
- Analyze inequalities and occupational injustices in your own country together with affected groups.
- Create and implement sustainable social innovations to promote inclusion.
- Reflect on your role in driving ethical, lasting social change.
Study format and schedule
The course is delivered online. Synchronous sessions are held approximately twice per month, typically in the early evening between 16:00 and 18:00. Each session lasts approximately 1–1.5 hours.
Students are required to prepare for the sessions by completing assigned tasks related to the course themes in advance. Active participation is expected. Between scheduled sessions, students engage in independent work, both individually and in small groups.
The course will be introduced on 8 September at 16:30. The course concludes with examinations conducted over two days, 25–26 November.
