Tuition Fees

Please note that applicants from countries outside the European Union/EEA-area are required to pay tuition fees. This master’s degree programme, consisting of 90 ECTS, costs 11 000€ in total. Applicants that accept their place of study within two weeks after receiving their offer, get an early-bird discount worth 4 000€ for the first academic year. No scholarships are available for master-level studies.

Nordic healthcare faces rapid shifts brought about by digitalisation, alternative economic developments and demographic changes. Responding to these challenges demands competencies and leadership skills to promote sustainable solutions through e.g. circular initiatives. The master’s degree programme in Leadership for Nordic Healthcare will support you to become a leader for change. You will be given the opportunity explore new leadership techniques, discover your leadership strengths and expand your professional horizon. The programme also makes you eligible for PhD studies.

This programme prepares you to:

• innovate within your own field of healthcare,
• motivate collaboration and
• take on leadership roles in your organisation.

You conduct your studies entirely online, which makes it possible for you to study alongside work and actively take part regardless of location. You complete the programme comprising 90 ECTS in either 18 months (full-time studies) or three years (part-time studies).

The programme is primarily aimed at candidates with a suitable Bachelor’s degree in nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy, public health nursing, physiotherapy, emergency care, sports and health promotion or physical education.

Open minded leadership

The Master’s programme provides you with the essential tools and understanding to succeed as a leader in the field of Nordic healthcare. We focus on how to develop an ethically conscious leadership style, which places work ethics and sustainable solutions at the centre. You also analyse, critically evaluate and develop both projects and your own personal leadership style, and build your preparedness by staying curious and open-minded.

Development and digital communication in focus

You will develop competencies to:

  • Work proactively and multiprofessionally contributing to smart service development and digital communication with the client in the centre. 
  • Compare and evaluate knowledge about digital innovations.
  • Understand the principles of user-centred service design to be applied in healthcare. 

Specialize according to your own interests

The Master’s thesis project (30 ECTS) consists of an independent development or research project with the aim of developing Nordic healthcare. The project gives you the possibility to specialise within an area close to your heart. Through the thesis project you get to demonstrate your skills to systematically work solutions to a practical problem.

Completely online 

You can choose between completing the programme in 18 months (full-time studies) or in 3 years (part-time studies). You conduct your studies entirely online. Lectures, coaching and assignments are all handled online. We expect you to take part in online discussions once a week, usually in the evenings. You do assignments individually and as group work.

The department of healthcare

The Department of Healthcare, with closer to 700 students, is characterised by quality and vast experience. The department offers five degree programmes on a bachelor’s level and three degree programmes on a master’s level.

At the Department of Healthcare we know that transparency and curiosity are key to educating a skilled and competent workforce that makes an actual difference on the labour market. Our graduates meet working life with a modern approach to healthcare – one where people take centre stage. In other words the recipients of care never play a passive role, but rather are the most important actors in any care-giving setting.

Within research and development, we are particularly interested in patient safety, health promotion and social participation.
