Bachelor's Degree Programme in International Business


Please note that applicants from countries outside the European Union/EEA-area are required to pay tuition fees. The tuition fee for International Business is 6.000€ per academic year. Based on his or her study achievments, the paying student can be granted a scholarship from his or her second year. The scholarship will cover a maximum of 50 percent of the tuition fee.

 The Degree Programme in International Business at Arcada prepares you for a successful career in Finnish and international companies, by giving you a solid overview of all aspects of international trade and business. You will major in Marketing, Logistics, Tourism or Financial Management, which makes you a top level professional in your chosen field. There will be several additional modules you can chose from, enabling you to tailor your education to your particular needs and interests.

Experience a wealth of perspectives

At Arcada we know that the digital revolution has only just begun. We will see technology being utilized in ways that we can’t even begin to imagine today. This is why you as a student of International Business become part of a new way of studying and working. Not only do you get in depth knowledge in the traditional fields of study; our curriculum also gives you the possibility to design your individual syllabus and focus on your subjects of choice. Thanks to IT being an integrated part of your education you will also gain unique skills in digital tools and systems, which gives you a significant edge on the job market.   

More than 50 % of the International Business students are non-Finnish, which contributes to a wealth of perspectives. Teachers with a diverse and international background, as well as visiting lecturers from partner universities and business schools abroad, ensure that the teaching is state of the art.

As at student you will spend several months on work placements at companies in Finland or abroad, thus applying your knowledge to practical situations. Through our extensive student exchange programmes you can choose spend up to one year abroad at one of our partner institutions.

The courses are a blend of lectures and structured discussion sessions. You have the opportunity to analyse actual business situations and suggest solutions to them. There is more emphasis on practice than on theory. Cooperation with international companies and other international business schools helps to ensure that the curriculum and teaching methods are up-to-date. New and exciting courses

Last year Arcada's degree programmes in business were renewed to reflect the labour market of the future. Students and teachers alike appreciate the exciting opportunities made available by the new concept Arcada Business School. Students pursuing business degrees at Arcada (in International Business and the Swedish parallel programme Företagsekonomi) now work closer together, and even get the opportunity to complete the first year together. This means that you study in an international environment, create larget networks and get used to working alongside people with different cultural backgrounds.

Career opportunities

Having completed the Degree Programme in International Business you have the opportunity to work in a company of almost any size. Your workplace may be in Finland or abroad, you are qualified for both. Your skills are up-to-date and you are used to working with people of various nationalities, using English as a working language.

Possibilities for further studies

Students who want to continue their studies at a master’s level can do so at other universities or business schools either in Finland or abroad. Arcada offers Master’s degree programmes in Media Management and in International Business Management for e.g. Bachelors of Business Administration with at least 3 years of relevant work experience after completing the Bachelor’s degree.
