Sound design and music production for audiovisual production is an artistic, creative and professionally demanding work. Sound creates and amplifies atmospheres and feelings in ways that the visual elements cannot.
The sound design and music production path of study within the Media programme at Arcada will give you knowledge in field sound and post production of sound for documentaries, drama and multi-camera productions. Planning sound, adding sound and mixing in stereo and surround (5.1) are practised in all productions made during the study period.
In multi-camera courses, as a sound student, you will learn how to plan and make the programme's sound come to life in a modern, professional TV studio for complex productions. We work in teams and therefore it is important that you learn to see the overall picture and understand the problems other co-workers may experience. You will learn how to mix everything from simple discussion programmes to more demanding music recordings.
The programme also includes training in music production (recording and mixing). As a student, you will have the opportunity to make use of Arcada's professional studio for your own practice productions.
