The main language of instruction at Arcada is Swedish and most of the courses at Arcada are taught in Swedish. However, on top of the Swedish degree programmes Arcada offer a few degree programmes taught in English as well as a selection of courses taught in English.

The ECTS course catalogue contains descriptions in English of all courses, no matter what the language of instruction is. Each course description includes the language of instruction.

If you do not know Swedish but want to be admitted to Arcada, please check carefully that the programme or course units that you want to attend are offered in English (please see below).

The 2010-2011 ECTS course catalogue contains information which is valid for this academic year.

ECTS credits are used for all courses at Arcada.

An approved study attainment is assessed with the grades

- excellent (5)
- good (4-3) or
- satisfactory (2-1).

In specific cases student attainment may be assessed with the grade "accomplished" or "pass".

Below some exceptions worth noting are listed and explained:

  • If the course has no teacher appointed to it, this means that the course is under planning and no teacher has yet been assigned.
  • The Master's Degree Programmes are part-time programmes, meaning that the students’ curricula are individual and the course load is not evenly distributed.
