How to Apply

Application has now ended!  Next application will open in autumn 2012.

Below you can read about the application process for the latest application, autumn 2011. Please be aware that the requirements and the application process for next application autumn 2012 may change.

1. Apply with the application form

The application form is available at the bottom of this page form only during the application time. Before completing your application, please read through the instructions carefully.

Print out the application form, fill it out, sign it and send it together with the enclosures  that are listed below. The application together with enclosures must arrive at Arcada by 14th October 2011 at 4.15 pm EET.

2. Send in your application documents

Apart from the signed application form, applicants should also submit the following documents:

1. Officially attested copy of original Bachelor's degree certificate in the original language

2. Authorised translations (in English, Swedish or Finnish) of the bachelor's degree certificate/diploma if the original degree certificate is not issued in Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish or English

3. Officially attested copy of the transcript of academic records in the original language. (courses of the Bachelor's degree)

4. Authorised translation (in English, Swedish or Finnish) English translation of transcript if the original study transcript is not issued in Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish or English. The translation must be made by an authorised translator. The translated transcript can be submitted in original or as an officially attested copy.

5. Officially attested copy of the diploma supplement if applicable (in English, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish or Finnish) or another official certificate (in English, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish or Finnish) stamped by a university official explaining the scope, content, structure and tuition language of your bachelor's degree and the requirements (amount of credits and years) needed to complete the degree.

6. Attested copies of relevant work certificates in English, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish or Finnish of a mimimum of  three years of relevant workd experience. Self-employed candidates (independent entrepreneurs) and independent artists prove their work merits by providing a CV (curriculum vitae) and a list of productions projects, or exhibition with information that substantiaets the merits and a YTL-certificate. Please send only work certificates that are relevant. The work certificates should show starting and closing date as well as description of work tasks. If you have worked part time, the work certificates should indicate the number of work hours per month. 150 work hours or 20 working days (the minimum length of one full working day is 7 hours) compares with one month of work experience.

7. Certificate of English language proficiency

8. Letter of motivation  The applicant is asked to write a letter of motivation. The letter of motivation should not exceed 2 pages and it should address the topics announced here.
                            

9. Letter of recommendations (in English, Swedish or Finnish) The letter of recommendation should be written by an employer or by a professor or lecturer who has supervised the applicant at the university where s/he completed the bachelor's degree. 

10. Photocopy of the applicant's valid passport (page with personal information)


The deadline for application form and requested enclosures is absolute. Documents sent by e-mail or fax will not be accepted. Incomplete or late applications will not be processed.

Do not send original certificates, diplomas, etc. which cannot be replaced as application documents will not be returned.

Unfortunately we cannot comment on the status of any particular application until the final admission decision has been made.
