Entrance examination in Finland
Date: 25 April 2012 both the written and oral part
Time: Please reserve the whole day for the examination, as the oral part could carry on late in the afternoon/evening.
Location: Arcada, Finland
The entrance examination to the Degree Programme in International Business 2012 contains both written as well as an oral part and is based on pre-reading material. The applicant must study the material carefully before coming to the entrance examination. The applicant cannot take this material to the actual entrance exam and the material is not available for the applicant during the actual entrance examination. There will be an essay and 15 multiple choice questions based on this pre-reading material.
The points for the entrance examination (max. 100 points) are based both on the content of the answers and the quality of the applicant´s oral and written skills in the English language.
Applicants scoring less than 30 out of 100 points in the entrance examination are not eligible for admission. Entrance examinations from previous years are not available for viewing.
Arcada's Degree Programme in International Business accepts the results of other entrance examinations from cooperating UAS.
Pre-reading material
The entrance exam will be based on Metso Annual Report 2010 “Results by Working Together”. You can download it as a PDF file here (5 MB) or to read it electronically at http://www.metso.com/reports/2010/annual/index.html
The report consists of five sections and you are advised to read the entire report for general understanding. You are then advised to concentrate on sections titled Metso (pp.1-49), Business Review (pp.50-68), Financial Statements (pp.137-148) and Governance (pp.149-166).
Entrance examinations abroad
Applicant may be invited to take the entrance exam in countries abroad through the FINNIPS network. Applicants from countries mentioned within the brackets will also be invited to the entrance exam in the following countries :

Please note that the invitation will be issued on the basis of the address applicant has given in his/her application. It will not be possible to change the location to which applicant has been invited.
