Research and Development

Research and development work is part of our mission.

At Arcada research is built on close co-operation with other polytechnics and universities, both nationally and internationally. Currently the most important fields of research at Arcada are technology-based business development, data security, health promotion, multimedia, polymer technology and early rehabilitation.

The research and development (R&D) activities at Arcada are conducted under various forms and frames:

• The whole of the academic personnel is performing a continuous R&D work presented on the individual researchers webb pages.
• Ongoing and recently finalised research projects are presented in All R&D Projects. More comprehensive projects with external financing are presented on own webb pages.
• In year 2006 Arcada has also established research programmes covering a larger number of tematically related projects.
• The laboratories presented are functional environments which supports specific parts of the R&D activities.
