Two teaching departments have become three
As a final result of a long process of development at Arcada there have been a few changes in the organisation as of January 1st 2010. The aim has been an even stronger focus on research, teaching and entrepreneurship at Arcada.
The most apparent change is that the two teaching departments (the Department of Business Administration, Media and Technology and the Department of Sports, Health Care and Social Services) have been split into three separate departments, each with its own Head of Department. Furthermore, each department now has a Head of Research. All the three Departments have been renamed to better signal the competence and focus of each department.

Degree Programmes: Sports and Health Promotion, Emergency Care, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Services, Nursing, Human Ageing and Elderly Service + the Master Programmes in Health Promotion, Rehabilitation and Social Services
Head of Research: Jukka Surakka
In order to develop strategic fields of competence, research and innovation Arcada also now has a Head of Development in Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management as of January 1st. He is Senior Lecturer Jan-Erik Krusberg.
