Media Technology

In the Degree Programme in Media Technology the main educational and professional goals are to learn to use, maintain, understand and develop products in media technology and media production. Furthermore you develop expertise and skills to work with audiovisual technology and productions. You also learn to use the tools used in today’s multimedia environments.

The basics of audio and video recordings, editing and distribution are presented and trained. The electronic equipment used has an important role in the education. You also get knowledge about the information technology used. This includes hardware, programming and data structures. The education is based on skills in mathematics and physics but also electronics, telecommunications and information technology is considered essential.

The education is connected to the production, studio and postproduction equipment Arcada uses for its audio and TV productions in its Media Culture education.

After graduation you can become a Project, Studio, System, Product or Web Manager if you are interested in a leading position or a Product, System, Laboratory or Test Engineer if you are more interested in the technology. If you want to do research a System, Product or Web Developer might be your future job.
