Information and Media Technology

We live in a society where information, communication and media technologies play an important role and our everyday life is full of digital media in various forms. Business and society develop digital services at a rapid pace because we all expect to be able to handle most of what we need over a preferably wireless network. There is a huge demand for skilled engineers who can think in new ways and create tomorrow's interactive services.

The degree programme focuses on topics needed to develop and produce present and future digital media, products and applications. We study key technologies, tools and skills needed to create the visual user interface people want to see, the sounds people want to hear and interactivity people need to be able to use various mobile devices, computers and equipment.  But, of course, we must also understand and know what is going on inside these devices and networks that we use, regardless of whether this is about audio-visual technology, computer technology or programming.

After graduation, you have knowledge and skills that opens a wide area of different jobs to choose from.  For example, you can work as webmaster, web designer or web developer, software designer, programmer, network master or as a specialist in audio and video.
