Experience a wealth of perspectives

More than 50 % of the International Business students are non-Finnish, which contributes to a wealth of perspectives. Teachers with a diverse and international background, as well as visiting lecturers from partner universities and business schools abroad, ensure that the teaching is state of the art.

As at student you will spend several months on work placements at companies both in Finland and abroad, thus applying your knowledge to practical situations. Through our extensive student exchange programmes you can choose spend up to one year abroad at one of our partner institutions or continue your studies at a Master’s level.

The courses are a blend of lectures and structured discussion sessions. You have the opportunity to analyse actual business situations and suggest solutions to them. There is more emphasis on practice than on theory. Cooperation with international companies and other international business schools helps to ensure that the curriculum and teaching methods are up-to-date. Visiting lecturers from universities and business schools abroad are invited to teach specific courses.

Career opportunities

Having completed the Degree Programme in International Business you have the opportunity to work in a company of almost any size. Your workplace may be in Finland or abroad, you are qualified for both. Your skills are up-to-date and you are used to working with people of various nationalities, using English as a working language.

Typical titles for those who have majored in Financial Management are e.g. investment advisor at a bank, finance manager at a small or medium-sized company or financial reporting specialist at a subsidiary of an international company. Those who have majored in eBusiness and Distribution usually work as entrepreneurs, web-store managers, logistics experts, purchasing managers or in other positions requiring marketing skills.
