English language proficiency
All applicants will need to prove their skills in English.
A) The following are considered as valid proof of skills in English:
- a completed bachelor's or master's degree conducted in English in an EU/EEA-country, the United States, Canada, Australia or New Zealand
- IELTS academic level score 6.5
- TOEFL score 570 for the paper-based test, 85 for the Internet based test, or
- Skills level 5 in English in the National Certificate of Language Proficience in Finland
Both TOEFL and IELTS test result are valid for two years. TOEFL score results are oly accpetd if they are sent directly fromt the Educational Testing Service. Arcada's TOEFL code is 5724.
The National certificate of Language Proficience does not have a set date of validity.
In addition, upper secondary level school education in English completed in Great Britain, Ireland, the United States, Canada, Australia or New Zealand or a Bachelor's or master's degree completed in English in one of these countries, or in a EU/EEA-country is also accepted as a demonstration of sufficient English language skills.
B) If applicant does not have any of the above mentioned certificates by the end of application, applicant can do a test in English at Arcada, scheduled for 26/27.10
