Important to Notice

Fill out the application yourself and use your own contact details

This ensures that you will receive all important information directly from the polytechnic/UAS.

It is completely unnecessary and not recommended to use educational consultants that charge a fee for making an application to Finnish polytechnics/UAS. If you need help in filling out the application, please turn to the polytechnics/UAS, the Finnish National Board of Education and/or the local Finnish Embassy. These are the only reliable sources of information.

Consider your options carefully

You can apply for up to four different degree programmes at 25 UAS in Finland. The order of preference chosen in the application is binding and cannot be altered after the application closes!

Consider your preferences carefully

If you are accepted to the degree programme of your first preference, you cannot be selected for your second, third or fourth preference. If you are not accepted to the programme of your first preference, your points will be checked to see if you can be accepted for your second, third or fourth preference. Once you have been placed on a reserve place, you can be accepted for a higher preference option due to cancellations, if you have decided to be placed on a waiting list for a higher preference option or you have not accepted another study place.

Take entrance examination dates and UAS co-operations into account

Remember to check the entrance examination dates of the degree programmes you are applying to, and make sure the examination dates do not collide. Also check whether the degree programme accepts results from other UAS and if entrance exams are arranged abroad.

Only official diplomas and certificates of education are considered

A transcript of records, a result slip or a testimonial is not a certificate and should therefore not be submitted! You cannot prove your eligibility to UAS degree programmes with a UAS or a university degree certificate. Use your upper secondary school leaving certificate for applying to higher education institutions.

All certificates in languages other than Swedish, Finnish or English must be translated

All certificates in other languages have to be translated into one of the above languages by an officially certified translator. A copy of the original document (in original language) is also to be submitted.

Admission is not final until the original certificates have been checked by the institution

Any false information regarding qualifications will make an applicant disqualified for admission.
