Documents to Be Sent During the Application Period
If you have undertaken your education in Finland:
Applicants who are completing their Finnish matriculation examination or vocational education during the application process do not need to send in any documents. Grades from the matriculation examinations are received from the Matriculation Examination register. Please remember to inform the admissions office of the final grade point average by 18 May 2012.
Applicant who has completed the Finnish matriculatin examination before 1990 must also send in copy of certificates.
However, if an applicant is applying with competence based vocational qualification or competence based further vocational qualification, a copy of the original certificate must be submitted to the admissions office of their first choice by 24 February 2011.
Applicants who are completing their IB-examination in a Finnish upper secondary school in the spring 2012 apply with their Predicted Grades and these applicants must provide a copy of their Predicted Grades to the admissions office of their first choice by 18 May 2012. The admission of an applicant who is completing his/her IB-examination in a Finnish upper secondary school during application process is conditional until the applicant’s final certificate has been checked.
Applicants who are completing their Reifeprüfung –examination in the spring 2012 must provide a copy of their final certificate to the admissions office of their first choice by 18 May 2012.
If you have undertaken your education abroad:
In order to demonstrate your eligibility you must send copies of non-Finnish certificates. In addition, an official Finnish, Swedish or English translation of the certificate must be provided, if the certificate is not written in one of these languages. The documents must arrive at the UAS of your first choice by 24 February 2012 at 4.15 pm Finnish time. The UAS will then decide your eligibility for all options expressed in your application.
If you are a EU/EEA citizen and are completing you non-Finnish education in spring 2012, you do not need to send in your educational certificates. In such a case your possible admission will be conditional until you have shown your original certificate of completed eduation.
Language certificates:
Please see the section on language requirements. Original certificates or copies of language certificates must arrive at the UAS/polytechnic of your first choice by 24 February 2012 at 4.15 pm Finnish time.
